What happens when you pit one powerful bad
guy against the other and added a few witty lines of humor as well? You get, -we are Venom-
featuring Tom Hardy.

Venom (2018)

Now I save the world. If you like antihero movies, then the Amazon series, The Boys, or even the movie Brightburnmight be of interest to you. The movie is directed by Ruben Fleischer and features Tom Hardy in the lead role. For those o f you who are not familiar with venom, he is one of spider man’s most notable enemies. As far as movies are concerned, venom made an appearance in the 2007 Spider-Man three movie and Tobey Maguire, played the brief negative role really well. This movie is a spin-off of the Spider-Man universe and focuses purely on venom as the lead role. First we have Tom Hardy who plays the role of Eddie Brock, a reporter. Not that kind of a reporter. Thank God. He’s

the type of reporter who genuinely likes to
get to the bottom of the truth and uncover it as is without any form of bias. Next, we have the antagonist Carlton Drake, the founder of Life Foundations. I have always believed in space exploration is crucial in our quest to cure everything that ails us here on earth.
And he would go to any lengths to make sure that his dreams are fulfilled. Finally, we have Venom. You can call him an alien. Yes,

but we don’t call them that. How about a parasite?
PARASITE?! We call them symbiote. Venom is a symbiote that requires a host to survive on Earth. We also have Anne, Eddie’s girlfriend. While her role in the movie is pretty limited,

The movie starts with a space accident, resulting in a bunch of symbiotes crash landing in East Malaysia. Now the research being funded by Life Foundation, they’ve tried to save a few of the samples, but one of these symbiotes latches on to a host and escapes away. Enter Eddie Brock who has been asked to interview,

the founder of Life Foundations. The next
day, you recruits the most vulnerable of us to volunteer for tests, more often than not end up killing people. I’m aware of these rumours online there’s a lot of fake news out there these days. Right, what about legal

cases? Sorry. We’re not finished. Yes you
are Mr Brock. Is that a threat? Have a nice life. A few moments later, Eddie loses his job, his girlfriend gets fired, she ends up dumping him and Eddie is in some two-bit apartment.
Meanwhile, in Malaysia the symbiote changes hosts are latches on to a homeless lady. The symbiote wants to be reunited with its captured team members and starts making its way to the Life Foundation in the US. Thus, the homeless lady now approaches the airport looking for a different host. How was she allowed to enter the airport in the first place? Either way, she doesn’t belong in an airport and eventually follows a small girl into the ladies washroom. I’m pretty sure you can guess who the next host is. Meanwhile, Carlton is doing experiments, and eventually proceeds on to human trials,

leading one of the scientists to become a whistleblower. The whistleblower scientist then brings in Eddie to uncover the truth. Through a turn of events, the symbiote latches on to Eddie, and he escapes the facility. Carlton sends in a bunch of goons to apprehend Edie and there is quite an exciting fight scene that occurs. There’s also really amazing bikes a party should definitely check out. After the scene, we are then given a first look at the complete form of Venom. Eyes,

lungs, pancreas, so many snacks, so little time. I just love his voice. Venom then threatens Eddie to obey him if he wants to survive. A few more fight scenes follow which are really worth checking out. Anne eventually happens to learn the truth about Eddie, they both go to a hospital where the symbiote is separated from Eddie. Turns out the symbiotes are vulnerable to high-frequency noises. Eddie now without the symbiote is captured by Carl’s goons once again. Here we go again. The symbiote wants to get back to Eddie and takes over Anne as
a host. Meanwhile, the other escaped symbiote by the name of Riot eventually reaches the US and takes over Carlton. Their plan is to

go to outer space and come back with an army
of symbiotes to then take over the planet. Venom eventually decides to work with Eddie to bring Riot’s plan to a halt. Dude, I don’t get it. I don’t get it either. On my planet, I am kind of loser like you. But here, we could be more. Kind of like how Superman is super powerful on Earth, but he is nothing more than an average Joe back on his planet,
Krypton. A few more amazing fight scenes take place and Eddie and Venom save the day. To summarise this movie. There are some really

nice scenes that I highly recommend you watch
and Tom Hardy is amazing. Having watched this movie I found there are quite a few similarities with the game prototype. While this movie has received a lukewarm response from critics and a love-hate relationship with viewers, I personally enjoyed this movie. I would surely
recommend this movie to anyone I know. The mid-credit scene also gave an indication of a sequel which is expected to be released this year.
